werbad 43
Hi I have made a long net thinking that I had made it 18 high but I made it 27x606 do know what went wrong! What would you do? Quote Link to post
smithie 2,444
wants to be a lot deeper that 18 inch. 18 inch is a nice height to set it to when trying to catch. what size mesh you knitted and how many rows wide? Quote Link to post
werbad 43
The mesh is 2.5 so it's about 4 foot high and 606 mash long Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
Is that 18 meshes wide by 606 meshes long? TC Quote Link to post

werbad 43
I'm going to put a pole every 6 metres and one when needed to support, how many messes should I have every 6 metres if they are at 2.5 inches mesh? Sorry if still confusing yous Quote Link to post
smithie 2,444
I do hope it's not a 2.5 inch mesh or the net will not be much use. if the mesh board is 2.5 inch that gives you a 5 inch mesh. again this won't be much use. a a peg every 5 yds give or take. Quote Link to post

Now I'm coming confused! Sorry it 2.1/8 not 2.5 need to read things not just think I know what I'm on about, so is that ok? So about how many messes do you have every 5 yds? Or what should I have at 2.1/8 over 6m Thanks for any help Quote Link to post
smithie 2,444
you board makes a 4.25 inch mesh and thats OK. just Google how many inch in 1 yd x 5 then divide 4.25 Edited September 30, 2015 by smithie Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
with a 4 1/4" mesh you need 85 meshes per five yards of net for a net rigged by half it's stretched length. TC Quote Link to post

TC Thanks for that, so would I have to add 43 so I had 50% bag? Is it ok that it's 27 mesh high? Quote Link to post
smithie 2,444
oh Yeh i forgot the bag lol Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
Right, I think I have worked out what he means? I think he is counting rows as meshes 27 rows = 13.5 meshes deep and 606 is 303 meshes long. If I am right he has 17.5 yards of net rigged by halves or (100% bag as it is erroneously called) rigged 85 meshes into every 5 yards. When will people realise that there are two rows in a single mesh. The same with all the 100% and 50% bag rubbish there is no such thing. TC Edited October 1, 2015 by tiercel Quote Link to post
