shagly 0
I guess it really does depend on the land your running, i agree with some of the other posts, its good to be out, i normally just go out for 2-3 hours, and im happy if i bring a few bunnys back for the freezer. i will quite often go on my own with my 1 lurcher, sometimes with my mate and his 2 lurchers, between us we have a fair amount of permmission, i would go out a bit longer if i was out with lee as the dogs take it in turns..........just depends on how the night goes really Quote Link to post
deerhound working 3
A good night for me is when the dogs are working out of there skin and when they take game that where impossible to get and easy ones escape and for days and weeks later you go over in your head each race and you smile to yourself about all that happened and knowing your dogs gave it there all that is a good night for me its not about the bag its all about the dogs working and seeing all my work with my dogs paying off as they persue there game with heart and brain Quote Link to post
Guest MOLLY
To get 5 runs here would be outstanding. But as already said, i come home with the odd one now and then, its the getting out and trying i find more important than the numbers. eg.... Got one rabbit yesterday ferreting. One rabbit last night lamping. One rabbit today bushing thats nearly a weeks worth of food for the furts. Will be out again tonight, tommorrow and tommorow night. Ive even started lamping for the terriers now the days are dark early, they catch nowt, but it keeps them fit and happy....LOVE IT MOLL. Quote Link to post

Lukey. 0
For me its about going out and getting a few good runs,...if it gets away fair play and if its in the bag then to me thats a bonus A dont mind going home empty handed and if everything was to end up in the bag then it would be called catching not hunting Quote Link to post

I catch x amount of rabbits and think that should tie the ferrets over fo X amount of weeks/months. I've got about 1 months worth of ferret food in the freezer at the min, so supply is running low, will need to hit some easy spots lol I occasionally got a bunny for myself or the dogs. Can't wait for the day when dog and ferret can catch/bolt enough to feed both dogs and ferrets 24/7 throughout the season. Quote Link to post
