Cockers89 82
I thought my weekend couldn't get any worse after England losing yesterday, but to top it all off my Mrs dragged me to the local car boot today ? . Nothing against people who go to them, they're just not my cuppa tea. Anyway... I decided to let her go off and have a look around the stalls whilst I found a quiet spot to sit with the dogs. Whilst I waited, an older gent approached me striking up a conversation about my lurcher pup. I sat there for a good half an hour chatting about working dogs and the "good old days" etc. I had a feeling he was well known in the community when a few traveller lads walked past and agknowledged him. After he introduced himself as "Mac" and mentioned one of his old dogs; Rambo, I soon realised he was "Whittlesea Mac", I've read topics on here before of him and his dogs but not met the man before. I could have sat there for hours listening to his stories; 70 years old and he's still involved with the sports, all I can say is that I hope I'm the same when I get to that age. For someone who you can tell has probably forgotten more than I know, he comes across as a humble gent. I'm sure some of the old coursing lads on here know Mac and his dogs so I thought I'd share my encounter. It's nice to see some of these old boys are still about! ? Cheers for reading, R&r 3 Quote Link to post
