MIK 4,756
I have had 3 of the old L200 and imo they are bomb proof and take a lot of stick and with the right tyres will go most places that any other 4x4s go sometimes I have driven all the pick ups I drove the new hilux in Oz last year on a 4x4 driving course it was decent enough one thing about the ozzies they are really into there 4x4s in a big way and are fully kitted out I had the new Ford Ranger in the austaralian out back earlier this year and it was a decent bit of kit but never really tried it offroad just driving for 100s of km at a time on dusty tracks . I bought the new L200 earlier this year and im impressed so far more comforatble than the old model but you can feel its not so well made the old models were built like tanks not really done any serious offroading or towing with it yet but the engine 176bhp DI-D is alot better and much more economical . walshie 2,804
I test drove a new Ford Ranger today and I was totally underwhelmed. I like the look of them, but IMO the gearbox is wank and the ride isn't particularly nice. Testing a Hilux tomorrow.
