Bobo 135
Went to a bit where we do twice a year for foxes on Saturday, bushed one out of each of the first two drives and never got a go at either, bad start.Onto the next drive and my mate went to sit with the two lurchers(and gun) whilst me and another mate pushed a small wood through,he slipped the dogs to retrieve the shot fox and this time the deed was done, pressure off.Carried on even though heavy rain had started,in the hope of something to ground. After checking a couple of earths which were empty my mate found a nice 7 holer on a burn bank which his bitch marked keenly,we netted up and put my bitch in due to her being more of a bolting dog than his and it was getting late on in the day so preferred a bolt to a dig.Dog was just out of sight and she opened up,seconds later a big dog fox bolted into a net with the bitch at the back of him, humanely dispatched him and tried the bitch again, another short burst of yapping then a vixen hit the same net, luckily reset. Went back to the farm yard to show a very happy farmer. Took the dogs out this morning to a local fishing spot and two of the terriers marked under a large slab of concrete, after a bit of digging in they pulled this out, good start to the day.Deciced to finish off the day with a bit ratting at a place we were at last week,we just took a few dogs and a spade and dug wherever the dogs marked,we ended up with 18 and a rabbit that was flushed by the terriers and picked up by my mates 3/4 grey 1/4 bull.Good end to a great weekend, shame its back to work tomorrow.Good hunting all. Guest Ditch_Shitter
' The van looks the business'. Exactly what I thought! Like; 'Here comes a man who's F*cking serious about what he does!' More power to ye, mate! And that bloody mink?! Oh dear god!!! Just Seeing the Size of that monster's made me re think all I ever suspected about the b*stards! Good Grief! If they get That big? No f*cking wonder I've never managed to snare one yet! I've honestly only ever seen three live ones in my life yet. I guess I've sort of judged them on a few bitches? I take it that's a buck? Give a Pine Marten a run for it's money any day of the week! Great post! Thanks! Quote Link to post

Bobo 135
Cheers for the comments folks. Ditchy, yes it was a dog mink, big boy he was. The vans kitted out in the back solely for the dogs, the middle bits for gear and the fronts got three seats for us lot. Quote Link to post
Guest little_lloyd
Oh that gives me the minking bug Quote Link to post
Magpie 102
Sounds like you had a great time mate. Beats sitting in the pub pissing ya money up the wall don't it! I managed to fill my weekend with a bit of ferreting on Saturday, bushing yesty morning and a quick shine out last night, although I really shouldn't have bothered. It was raining that hard anything with any sense was well below ground. Keep it up and enjoy the rest of the season. Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Good van that: got something similar: lurchers and terriers separate and safe. Good haul too. Magpie your'e a plonker! Or are you half duck? LOL We were going out lamping but we thought that any sane animal would be tucked up dry somewhere: we were right weren't we? Quote Link to post
