Guest hunter1983
collie grey hound fine half cross or three quarter. great allround dog,.if i had to have one dog only thats what i'd choose. Quote Link to post
fielder 18
Im not so bothered by the breed as long as it does the job. Having said that, I run an Australian Cattle dog crossed with a small lurcher. All she lacks is speed, so I could be tempted by an Australian Cattle dog x greyhound. Not everyones cup of tea but would suit me. Quote Link to post

fielder 18
They are very loyal, can be over protective if not well socialised, and tough. I have found my bitch to be very willing to please and has a strong prey drive. The right dog put over a good greyhound could produce good stuff if properly entered. Has anyone out there taken them further? Either 3/4 or 5/8 cross? Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
an allrounder in my eyes might not be an allrounder in somboby elses eyes ...if you know what i mean for ......... this is my view of an allround dog which i require ......first of all its hunting ability ..e.g. it needs to be able to work cover in the daytime thats a must and work the lamp ...also be able to work the dog off a slip in the day time without it hunting up when i dont want it too ....(quarry )all i require off a dog is to be able to catch hare rabbit and deer....pre ban of course .... now folk will be saying what about fox .......well what about em ....they dont really intrest me to be honest ....pre ban i would slip on one if it got up in front off me or if the dog worked it out of cover ....but fox doesnt come into my allround dog i reqiure ......as for breeding i prefer something with abit of alsorts in it but i like saluki ...so just my personall preference it would have to have saluki in its make up ...not eveybodies cup off tea but it is mine and most importantly from tried and tested parents in all the aspects of hunting i have stated .............thats my personall choice ......
