River Cynon Anyone Fish This Water

Just woundering if anyone new what percentage of the salmon that run the taff head for spawning grounds on the cynon if any think there was roughly 400 upwards running the taff last year surely the cynon will get a small run later on the year.

A mate of mine has caught one just below my house approx two mile up from the rivers meet. Thats the only one i have heard of, around 3 lb and around 3 year ago

I fished the Cynon from the age of 4 up, but in the upper reaches. My Brother still lives in the area Next time I speak to him I will ask. I do know though that all the parr were stocked in the Taff not the Cynon.

I used to live in Fern Hill. I have two sisters living in the Cyber and one in Porthcelyn.

 

Anyways Just spoke to my brother, and he is up on his fishing. Apparently the Salmon are running the Cynon, but do not stay there, they run up so far then drop back to the Taff. That is from the EA from tagging and tracking fish. They are running the Taff though, The biggest problem from what he just told me is the Cardiff barrage interfering with the runs.
