CushtyJook 1,097
Jok I like nowt better than chucking fluff at trout, I'm shit at it but I love it. But there's times when you can't fly fish, or times when you just wanna catch a quick trout for the kids or the kids mates while out on a walk. I take my kids camping, take what we can carry and head over back fields, walk coast to caost walk till we find somewhere nice. Carting fy gear aswell would be a hindrance,so a hand line is perfect to take and catch tea. Iv never used a net, but that don't mean I wouldn't,I'd love to try netting river lolNot keen on netting rivers I know I was quite bad for taking fish when younger but nowadays I like to hope there's lots of wild fish and not getting overfished to the part it comes baron and boring Quote Link to post

Must be different in Scotland the water balifs here won't dare walk the river some parts get miles and miles from the nearest road and they won't be bothered to be there they go for people who park there cars near by and see them I never have a veichle as I'm living five minute walk from the best weir on the river Quote Link to post
jok 3,313
Suppose it's worth a mention as were all having a go. River Leader. Tributary to the Tweed. Earlston. Good night. Aluminium plate and a good light. 15 fish and a good cigar. Pull on the bottle. Smiling like a thing gone smily mad. BLUE LIGHT. Fck me and tried to do a runner but with a little Renault something it wasn't gonna happen. Nicked' Lauder |Polce Station. and the the obvious. Now what I did not know was that the water was owned by the Sherrif. Obvious result. Highest fine per fish in Scotland. What a buzz though. 1 Quote Link to post
