What No Cimetrol, Now What.

Recommended Posts

Flea eggs and flea larvae that are exposed to an IGR will never develop into the adult jumping, biting and (most important!) reproducing fleas.

Hi Dirk

I have been using FW for the past 20 odd years , I rember a few years ago it didn't perform as it should have ( bad batch or something ) I always advise no hovering for at least 14 days , leaving plenty of time for the life cycle of any eggs to start .

But never had any probs , if using an igr and it gets hovered too soon there's no igr or AI for the hatching eggs /larvae ?

Voids and call centres / public places are a different kettle of fish .

I still advise no hoovering for as long as possible but a minimum of two weeks if they don't listen and the treatment fails then I wouldn't be the one who gets the blame. Ficam W is still a great product but as we have IGR we should be looking to use them to avoid call backs. There have been days when I have looked in the van and found that I done have any left and still carried out the treatment with great success. There is no right and no wrong but IGR's are a real bonus at times.

I've never found igr's to improve treatment over standard insecticides for fleas. In fact I've had more callbacks using cimetrol this year than any other type. It's not bad for bedbugs but stingray was a far better product for both imo. I've got a bottle of cimetrol left but gone back to ficam for fleas-no more callbacks.

It does leave a 'bloom' on hard surfaces but it cleans off after treatment is complete no problem.
