Steknapp 0
Thoughts and opinions on this gun and what kind of use in the UK? Would like a larger caliber rifle to shoot/hunt with but need some advice, thanks Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
We all started somewhere but you seem all over the place, just what requirement do you have for a .308? I have a SPS Stainless in .308, it is out of the box except about 3" cut from the barrel and threaded. The stock and trigger are original, some will suggest the stock is useless, but mine delivers 1" with PRVI 150g SP and that does me just fine in the field. So, in simple terms, the rifle is fine, but there is plenty you can do to trick it up if you must. Do you have a FAC at all, if you don't it isn't the easiest thing to get at first grant, although not impossible if you can justify it. 2 Quote Link to post
Lloyd90 509
Weren't you just asking about a 22lr and varmint guns ? Don't take offence pal but atm you don't have a clue so you need to learn. Do you have land to shoot on ? If so or even if not start with a half tidy pellet gun, then after you have a bit of experience / permission to hunt on put in for your licence for a rimfire ( aka 22lr rifle) youd be lucky to get passed for much else without experience and some knowhow. 1 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
This does strike me as a little odd, you say you want a .308 and then ask what use it would be in the uk, and then say you want a larger calibre rifle,do you mean larger than a .308?You certainly appear to have very little knowledge, and dont give us any information, IE your intended use(sorry you have already intimated you dont know) not being rude pal, but the chances of you been granted a .308, certainly on the information, and obvious lack of knowledge you display, are about the same as me becoming the next prime minister, as has been said start with an airgun and get some experience, use the time to learn, or is this a case of a member of the anti gun camp, fishing to see if us nasty gun owners provide information to new shooters, telling them how easy it is to obtain a firearm? I hope not and it is not easy(just in case like) 1 Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
At least shooting would get represented. 1 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
At least shooting would get represented. It would be made compulsory mate like archery practice used to be. 1 Quote Link to post
