Gibbo.13 1
Has anyone ever had a fox kill their ferret? Just caught one trying to dig under their run but the run is on slabs. Quote Link to post

Gibbo.13 1
So would you be worried by it or not? As I'm not going to be able to settle, I've been up and down like a yo yo ready to chase it. Quote Link to post
random 659
If its tried to get in I honestly would probably be a bit concerned as well, can you secure them a bit better or put them somewhere else, like the shed? Or do something to put the fox off a bit, just for peace of mind if nothing else,if the fox makes a hole of any type the ferrets could even escape and either way could end up gone! Quote Link to post
Gibbo.13 1
I've barracaded around the run but can't move them to the shed as it's a hutch and run, for the fox to get in or the ferrets to out the slabs will have to be moved which are 60cm x 60cm so quite heavy. ryaldinhio 4,502
do you have any more slabs to put around the outside? Quote Link to post
The one 8,463
Aye they didn't kill her straight away but died of her wounds when I got her out the burrow Quote Link to post
Gibbo.13 1
I've got one more slab that i can put down at the side of the run which is where the fox started digging. Quote Link to post
OneManAndHisDog 513
Dig around there run about a foot and put strips of mesh in where you've dug then fill it back in 1 Quote Link to post
OneManAndHisDog 513
Or get a slingshot with a load of frozen peas Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Or just put a slab or concrete base on your run ?? Plenty free slabs on gumtree free cycle Quote Link to post
Gibbo.13 1
Did think about the catapult but not really the solution so if it carries on be a nuisance i will have to trap it. Quote Link to post
max abell 196
The trouble with foxes is when they have got there mind set they will keep coming back. We back onto fields and when we used to race pigeons we had one fox that wouldn't give up no matter what we tried. The only option was the silenced rimfire out the dorma window and put a bullet in its head. Instant death end of problem.depends on where you live backdrop etc. Or try and borrow a fox cage trap and a silenced 410 Good luck with it mate cos when you have got a determined fox you have got a problem 1 Quote Link to post
Gibbo.13 1
It hasn't been back since but I'm sure it will, shooting it isn't a option so will have to trap as you said. Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Young foxes will sniff about this time of year , had one a few years back stuck his nose through the mesh ????. There was a trail of blood from the cage across the lawn and up and over the wall , don't think he came back , 1 Quote Link to post
