Honest question is the poppy not in memory of military personal who gave their lives in defence of freedom and not in defence of a monarchy? Many soldiers were not royalists just as many people are not. Corbyn in my own opinion is a plank and his politics are outdated putting it politely. but isnt it his right to choose to sing or not to sing the national anthem.? isnt that why most military died fighting for freedom and the right to choose so to equate the poppy and remembrance day with his choosing not to sing the anthem is that correct.

WW1 and WW2 i would say most who fought were fighting for King and country

As a politician I don't think you should have the freedom to do what you want

They are there to serve the country the Monarchy and its traditions......not their personal views

So the Allies who fought and died in WW1 and 2 were fighting for king and country? In a Democracy (alledged) you think politicians should not have freedom of choice? Thats a Dictatorship isnt it. Are poiticians supposed to serve the electorate not the monarchy and at her coronation didnt the queen take an oath to serve the country and the people not the other way round. May be I am wrong

He won't get the chance to be a serious threat to Britain............a lot of fuss over nothing I reckon.

That shadow cabinet appointment of Kerry McCarthy is fcuking hilarious imo

I doubt some of the allies like the French and Yanks were fighting for our king.....but the British were and probably most of the commonwealth troops.....im sure they would have sworn an oath to king and country

Yes politicians have freedom of choice they can choose to be like Corbyn and get no where....I'm sure theres some times when a politician has to swear an oath to Queen

They can of course refuse and go home

According to the rules all politicians have to swear an oath the monach after a general election or after the death of a monarch

Has he sworn an oath to the queen ???

If he accepts a place on the Privy Council then he'll have to swear allegiance, what good is the opposition leader if he's not privy to these security briefings.

I don't think its just the privy council.....its to be an MP and sit in parliament

Theres two oaths one with God in the wording and one without God but both are an oath to the queen and the monarchs to follow

Well BGD says that Corbyn's not an hypocrite so won't be kneeling, swearing allegiance or making any oaths to the monarchy. So how will this work if he's not going to do it?

He's been an MP for 32 years, he would of sworn any oaths he had to swear a long time ago.
