green dragon 701
Alrite guy so went for a walk with missus yesterday day as it was the first day we've had off while. So iv been takeing pup to this spot where I haven't seen a rabbit in the last year as I didn't want any chance of him doing him self any damage. Anyway after a cupple of hours of walking playing and a bit of chilling out we decided to make our way home. as we waked down the old farm track my pup just stoped dead and then frantically smelling up and down the hedge and poped out a rabbit and bang 20ft later he cought it so I left him to see if he would bring it back and without a thort he was bringing it back to me just like it was his ball ((I would like to add that this was a freak accident and won't be happening again till he the write age)) but I was still very proud of him its atb guys 5 Quote Link to post

bonehead 92
I would agree with guys if dog is willing to work let him as some dogs mature early and have a head for work I had a pup that was keen to chase work at 7 months and I was tempted to hold her back but I gave small bolts when ferreting twice a week by the time pup was 18 months it was a machine and to be honest best dog I have ever owned sometime just trust nature and give pup it's head but I wouldn't let it work more than twice a week keeps them keen just my opion but ken lots disagree we this approach Quote Link to post
green dragon 701
He's a collie bullgreyhound I was told they are quite slow to mature he quite fast and seems good on his feet turns well when playing with other dogs like I said he is still very puppy like I'll take him out for a cupple of moochees and see how he gos atb mate Quote Link to post

ryaldinhio 5,035
looks a nice pup fella and he has proved the potential now. I took my lab for a wander on saturday and she disappeared after a rabbit, in a straight line across a decent field, she went from 60yard behind to about 10 when it got to the hedge. All I could think was if Id've the lurcher I wanted instead of lettin misus get her way Id be takin some fresh rabbit home for the ferrets!!!! Never mind. Quote Link to post
