Fishing At Blackpool

Can anyone give any tips for fishing round the blackpool , bispham , clevelys areas . Ive just bought some beach casting gear but im a total novice when it comes to sea fishing and im not sure what kind of rigs to use for different fish or even which fish are going to be around .

its fishing very poor at the moment mate. if you go on to the "angling addicts" forum you'll find everything you need, and there a great group of lads willing to help anybody

Some good spots down towards lytham so I'm told. I used to have a client who was mad on bass fishing. During the run he would always phone to go and collect a few off him.

 

Used to see a few people up in Fleetwood fishing also

5 bar gates always worth a go but if you can get out on a boat or kayak their pulling in a few good smooth hounds

Thanks for the replies . Called in at bispham angling earlier and the woman serving said the same about it not fishing well . If the weathers not too bad , ill have a look at 5bar gate monday or tuesday and just see how things go

you could fish low water at morecambe mate? plenty of nice fat September plaice coming out 1 1/2hrs either side of low water

What is is like safety wise . The lad who I'll be going with is in his 60's and not in the best of health and he's a bit worried about getting cut off

yeah if your new to the area and don't no it you would be best to stay off the mussel beds, but if you go to the stone jetty behind the midland hotel there is a concrete slipway next to the lifeboat station that goes right down to the low water mark and you can fish of there in safety.

You can actually see the cars parked on it in this one. Easy access and egress mate.

edited to add you wont be able to get your car on it, you will have to walk from the carpark as its a permit only job with electric bollards etc mainly so the shrimping lads can launch there tendors at any state of tide
