buckstalker 0
Hi all Just in case anyone out there doubts the quality of the CZ452 read on. Just got one in .22LR and took it to the farm this afternoon for zeroing. Had fitted the scope the night before so once at the farm I lightly clamped the rifle in a work mate with plenty of padding, withdrew the bolt and having unscrewed the Parker hale mod' did a rough bore sight to a target about 25 yards away. Whilst keeping the rifle absolutely still I adjusted the turret windage and elevation screws to align the cross hairs with the target. Once done, bolt in and mod back on. This all took about 10 minutes. I then attached the bipod and then out to the chalk pit for zeroing. I measured off 50 yards to the target and then down on the deck with the rifle on the bipod for the moment of truth. The first 5 shots were on target but 3 inches high and 1 inch or so to the left. 30 clicks down and 10 to the right and the second 5 shots were loose grouped in the outer bull. Another 5 clicks down and 2 to the right and the third 5 shots managed a clover leaf very near the bull and 2 flyers just grouped a bit to the right. Now I had heared about CZ's so called accuracy straight from the box but I reacon this is pretty good going. Now I know what your all thinking-only 50 yards range? Well to be honest I try and get to about this range for all my shots so as to make sure of a clean kill so why zero at 100yards. Even my .243 is only zeroed for 75yards as most of my stalking is close cover woodland. Anyway I'm well pleased with the .22, especially as the trigger is the pits. I've ordered the Brooks kit from Rimfire Magic but there is a 4 week or so wait at the moment. Once it's fitted I'll report back on the hoped for improvement. Last thing I did was to detach the bipod and walk up the wood to see what was about. Has visions of a couple of woodies maybe. Nothing much about as the woodsman had been there earlier and had a fire going. However a crow came over and perched about 70 yards away. Now I'm more used to a shot gun for these characters but the rimmie did the business a treat so maybe my zeroing was not too bad!! _________________ Quote Link to post

buckstalker 0
Hi Daz Nope, not sure where to get a 10 shot metal mag' but I'd be interested if anybody else knows where? Been thinking of getting one myself. Perhaps a call to Edgar Brothers, the importers would get a result? Cheers Quote Link to post

buckstalker 0
Hi all Further to the above post, the trigger kit arrived today from South Yorkshire Shooting supplies. As it has been a wet afternoon I thought I would get down to fitting it. First thing to say is have a look at the Eric Brooks site first as the diagrams which come with the kit have been copied to many times and are not that good. Also the Brooks site refers to the Fuzey Limer trigger article. This is also good for general info' and diagrams. Having read both and also the instructions that come with the kit I used a combination of all three and the job was reasonably simple. I used the thinest sleeve (purple) and the second from heaviest spring. Having fitted it, what a difference!! The pull seems to be about 2lbs as opposed to nearly 4 lbs with the original CZ spring. The 2lbs can be beefed up a bit by using the 452's original threaded nut adjuster. This takes it to about 2-1/4lbs. The sleeve certainly improves and minimizes creep. If 2lbs would be too light then the heaviest spring in the kit should take things a tad more than 2-1/2lbs. An observation would be make sure you get a proper pin punch to do the job. Using a nail, as in the article, could end up bending and jamming in the pin hole. I used a very thin screw driver shaft cut off square and filed smooth. This was very hard metal and did the job very well. All in all £12.50 very well spent and highly recommended. South Yorkshire's phone number is 01226-756332 Really nice guy there and very helpfull. Bye for now Quote Link to post
