steve2507 522
Aye mines a half x steve.looks well thin lolit looks awfull when they like that I love a fat pup . This pup is eating loads now but of tinned stuff which tells me it's not getting enough goodness out of the tin if he is hungry all the time I've started adding dry into it on the hope it will fill it up and he is eating the dry I would prefer him on raw You want to give it some raw rabbit/chicken/venison. It will eat that.he has had the rabbit n chicken he just picks at it the venison is hard to part with though ? Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
I worked as a chef years back and took pretty much everything going spare for my dogs. I took left overs . Mainly went for cooked veg greens carrots etc not spuds. Any meats from fat off a sirloin to half eaten fishes, chicken anything you could imagine. Only concern of mine was salt.. I used to rinse the food but a lot would go be absorbed in cooking process.. Dogs were bouncing and it saved a fortune. Now I go for barf and if I get caught short I woukd use a tin as a one off.. Mind a good ratch in Morrisons can often produce some decent meaty bones - offal - fish 3 Quote Link to post
King. 215
This is my take on it. Every thing mans touches he feciking destroys or for the less harsh lads wreckes. Try studying wolfs In the wild. When they have a litter there's no vet that goes out and worms them from4 /6/10/12 weeks plus and worms them over 3/6/9 12 months etc. Nobody regulates they food comsupstion or gives them vitamins etc. basically we are talking like cave men we have so much information around us yet still ask the question what's best to feed a dog. Raw is the way forward all the way meat berries eggs offal from kills etc. when your dog starts eating rabbit and cow/horse shit. Don't shout at the dog and curse like ive seen people do before. Just think why is the dog eating that and open your mind a bit. The dog is clearly lacking in its diet that we are giving it. Like I said man wrecks everything he touches. Sorry for the rant but that's the truth. All the best king 2 Quote Link to post
snappeer 464
Why do they eat grass kingy Quote Link to post
King. 215
Why do they eat grass kingy Either the dogs is lacking in nutritional needs or is trying to get more fibre in its diet. Or the no1 cause in my mind is trying to rid itself of intestinal worms. Wolfs don't skin rabbits or any other game. The fur of rabbits for instance acts like a brush to the inside internals of a dog and brushes out any worm eggs or any other parasites.us Humans can try to replicate that of nature by administering drugs. Ie tablets etc. but to no avail just try your best to copy nature as close as can be and you want go wrong.wolfs have been with us for 10s of thousands of years and are pure healthy specimens. It's quite simple just look at there diet. 2 Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Some pups are like small children: picky. My pups won't eat their veg when they are young, but they all eat it up as they get older Try adding some tinned sardines to the dry to add flavour, or boiled, ground liver. Keep trying him with new and different things. It won't make him fussy, and will just encourage him to eat a bit more of all sorts of different stuff. Also, if the pup has just left its litter mates, the lack of competition can throw a pup right off its food. Being in a new place can do that too. I take it he has been properly wormed with the right wormers? Not the crap from over the counter. Quote Link to post
