barrywhite 282
I have 4 spring guns no scope creep just used good mounts correctly . aa tx 200, 97 k and a webley omega all eazy to shoot accurately . a bsa lightning shoots accurately but a bit of practice is required with this gun as it has a lot of kick and the trigger is heavy .I have pcps also but sometimes all the pumps, bottles, different connectors and maintenance, leaking o rings , gauges sticking , having to keep every thing spotless so as not contaminate the air cylinder with dirt out in the field ect can be a bit of a drag .Sometimes the grab the gun ,a gun bag and a tin of pellets aspect of a springer is very apealling . I nail stuff as good with either springer or pcp . 3 Quote Link to post

random 659
Read all the crap about being a good shot etc etc after changing pellets scope mounts scope etc ime binning the springer and getting a PCP the enjoyment is surely in the shooting not in wasting money on trying to cure scope creep etc etc etc PCP all the way The enjoyment is indeed in the shooting, that's why a springer is more rewarding,as it appears you know they are harder to use so should be more satisfying to use well, are you looking for an easy route? I personally prefer springers,a PCP is a fantastic tool and has some benefits over a springer but each to there own... 1 Quote Link to post
bernie67 35
pcp's are a great bit of kit, can't knock them have a s410 myself.but they seem so surgical and lifeless trying the harder route seems better to me.at least until you have mastered the springer.so much more rewarding.but each to there own. There should be no good reason why a HW should not shoot ok but I can understand if you want instant results but it may not happen for you even with a PCP. Are you expecting a magic wand ?. Good luck with your search and hope it all comes good for you. 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
I don't wish to offend anyone here. But... After reading how this chap regards everything he's tried as crap, this sounds like a case of lack of patience to learn to shoot properly. unwilling to make mistakes and see them as part ol the experience of shooting and improving on personal shooting discipline. A knowledge of how to cure scopecreep is easy when you use a decent set of mounts with an arrester bar to do that job for you. Scope Cant is a matter for careful alignment of the scope vertically and horrizontally to the rifle's action. Accuracy lies in a carefully practiced hold technique and breathing. The more you practice, as with anything required of a skill, the better you get. It's not that difficult to set yourself up properly and learn to handle what you've gotIf our friend here thinks that just buying a PCP will pay off all those facets that make shooting what it is and enable him a shortcut to shoot like a seasoned marksman there's nothing I or anyone else here can say that will change his mind. Not to someone who regards everything as "All that Crap!"BUT...Sounds to me like a PCP will be the only rifle he's capable of achieving anything approaching the standard of competent marksmanship he wants to be at. If you think a PCP will do everything for you and you just aim it and fire, well, carry on!In my bit of experience, a PCP still needs for you to find out its best performing pellet, it does not offer a foolproof alternative to a quality spring rifle for accuracy. It is still a rifle to which practiced discipline on the part of the shooter will pay dividends. They are still prone to the ills of poor trigger technique, poor hold and clumsy handling. Both types of rifle action demand respect in how you shoot with them, to get the best out of them, as well as yourself. But don't go calling a good rifle crap and binning it just because you can't be arsed to put the work in to learn from it and make it perform as you want, without putting some effort in to it to get yourself there with it.I'm just being honest here.Either you learn to do things properly, after which, you'll really enjoy and appreciate your shooting; or take up something less demanding of your level of patience and gives you instant gratification. No doubt you'll think of my post here as bollocks. That's fine with me. Because, I'm not doing your shooting and having your experiences of it so far.Pianoman Edited September 5, 2015 by pianoman 4 Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
I think the op should buy a shotgun, then "all that crap" will be irrelevant, just point and shoot 1 Quote Link to post
