India is exactly the same, always used to see people recycling, even the thali plates made from pressed coconut leaves were eaten by the cows that wander the street, alang in gujarat is the ship-breaking

I fully agree Max, but the guy who was tipping probably would have still tipped. We need more tips for sure.   With all these people out of work and claiming i think they should be employed at a re

My local commune/council has just created a bigger fly tipping problem round here......

Our local waste disposal went from being free to local commune ID holders to charging a fortune last year......green waste starts at €4 & then doubles with each visit within the year, so €8,€16,€32 & so on......that's just for grass cuttings etc.......a couple of weeks a go it cost me €30 for a small car load of mixed rubbish......

Needless to say you see fly tipping all over the place now, which obviously costs the commune money to clear up.....madness!!

That's stupid.

Round here all household is free to dump and I've even got a pass to dump household a couple of times a month in a commercial vehicle.

I notice council flat tenants round here have got into the habit of dragging out old sofas onto the footpath during the night.

What used to get me, is when you see people have gone to the trouble of driving out into the countryside to dump a sofa & some bin bags in a woodland lay-by..........like that's easier than going to the local tip down the road! Haha.....I used to see all the time where I used to go hawking......couldn't park for rubbish, scumbags....

It's not all bad I get quite a few grow room clear outs my way... Out of 2 bin liners full of trimmings I reclaimed 1 and a half ounce of smokable and what was left made a year's worth of butter  ...but I have to agree most the time it's just a pointless eye sore.

Councils don't help themselfs

Facilities closing

Charging to tip if your in a van

Ffs let people use a facility for free even if small scale commercial

Most of the stuff is recycled and generates money anyways.

It generates very little, whatever you don't pay now just goes on your council tax.

We used to get bins emptied every week, black bin for waste, green bin for garden waste and a wee green box trunk sized for recycling, then it went to every 2 weeks doing black bins one week and green and box following week, now we been hit with green bin charges, it's not much 17 quid a year, wouldn't believe how many folk have refused to pay it, so now they either tip grass cuttings and stuff at sides of roads or on any bit of spare ground ffs, went out this morning to put our green bin out and some cheeky fooker has left bags of grass cuttings on top of it lol same as sofas, fridges and all sorts other shit, folks these days think it's acceptable for them to lay in gardens for weeks on end cos it costs for bin men to pick em up and tip charges for vans, tbh we have learned to live with it, but way things are going I reckon it won't be long till we paying for everything to get took away, the more ye got, more it will cost you

Remember the talk of micro chipping bins?

That was so the bin lorry could identify your bin when it lifts and weighs the bin on emptying into the truck.
