bird 9,916
i can only go by todays media ,but im sure they wouldnt last a minute in todays society ,some 17 year old scrote would stick a bullet/knife in them for fun! that's it , anybody shoot a gun , any young bloke wanting to make a name for him self more so on drugs , would take either of them gays out no prob , and they the krays wouldn't have been missed well not by me, and I was born in 1952 . my old chap was proper man had 4 kids , worked 60 hours a week 2 jobs, looking after us 4 kids , we came 1st him+ mom second that's a man to admire , not couple puffs tooled up with plenty back up , that's cowards .!! Bird they wasnt out to make their families proud they was out for fame and fortune.....which for a couple of not very bright young lads they did a great job of.......some people are impressed by hard work but round here right or wrongly thats never really been a particularly sought after quality the way it is in some areas....having a bit of nouse is just as valued as hard work which is what i love about this area the hardworking success story is no more admired and respected than the man who can work a pound note straight or crooked....it means everyone has the same chance of success. fair enough , suppose as you say its how your brought up, and where your brought up. I was born/bred Wolverhampton , which is on outskirts of the black country , maybe difdernt mind set to cockneys mate. my old man worked at Goodyear's for 40 years, and did other jobs to get money for the 4 kids . funny thing is that he wasn't over big bloke 5ft 9in 11st all his life from kid through the war , but feck me was he a strong bloke for his size, I ve seen him with big bag of coal on his back, ride a feckin pushbike lol really tough.strong bloke, his dad was the same, and I am just bigger version 5ft 11 1 /2 12st 7 lb , I am naturally strong bloke , even before I done weights/karate . my old man used get me in the garden with the boxing gloves and have a knock with him, he never held back much well to the body lol. but you right different areas/places have different attitudes . true Im not saying the hard work road isnt to be admired it is......what i mean is the thing i always loved about this area is it doesnt matter how you get success just as long as you get it !.....whether its through hard work or robbing banks it will be equally respected as nobody round here comes out of Oxford and Cambridge so you make the best of what you have......plenty of lads ive known through the Repton club have gone onto great wealth with little or no education....people like a Cypriot lad ive known many years Andy Panayiotu started with nothing and went on to buy the most expensive house in Britain along with being one of the countries richest men through totally straight earned money.....or Ray Winstone a multi millionaire and world renowned actor.....likewise a few other folk who have gone onto amazing wealth within criminal circles im equally proud of all of them as this is one of the only areas ive ever come across where people dont judge you for what you have or how you got it.....just whether you have got it......the old 2 job hour working week doesnt impress folk round here the way it does in other places. Lenmcharristar 9,792
I will most likely watch the film,,as that hardy fella is a good actor,,,, But I groaned when I herd the title was " legend",,,they don't deserve that title,,,,should have just called it Ronnie and Reggie or called it, a couple of bandits. which serves them well in 2 vices,

dare 1,103
When i think of impressive first thing that comes to mind really is materialistic stuff. If someone was working every hour under the sun, i wouldnt be impressed id be sympathetic. Way someone earns a living doesnt earn my respect, unless its a job which is helping others like your doctors and nurses ect. If a bloke who was working all hours had a chance to earn money in a way that went against his morals and he stuck to it id respect that. Maybe abit similar to your story bird, i knew a bloke who raised 5 kids. His bird had pissed off with a new bloke and left her own kids. Bloke raised em all on his own and worked 2 jobs. The kids never really played out at all and when they did they was quiet as anything. My mum told me their situation as she looked after em for him as a favour every now n then. Anyway bumped into one of the kids and got talking, all of them are doing really well with the 2 older ones in decent paying jobs. The mum tried to get in touch years down the line after splitting with her bloke and they all told her to f**k off. I know it was his kids and its what your meant to do but many dont and he raised em all well so deffo have respect for the bloke n will always take the time to ask how he is if i see him.

dare 1,103
I aint got no problem, my point was i dont care how someone makes their money. Just because someone works two or three jobs or earns 20k a year or 40k it means sod all to me. I wouldnt use the word respect based on how someone does or doesnt earn a living. I havent got less respect for someone who works in macds than someone with a well paid job. Like you say maybe its an area thing but me and my mates would be more impressed by materialistic things than what someone does for aliving.

Just think blokes look better in a suit rather than jeans. Was looking online at a lovely suit and my mum went off so much that she made me think nah i can spend that. Just got back with the dog and shes sat there in her pjs and dressing gown as usual lol shouldnt ever listen to a word she says in regards to clothes bloody lives in her pjs.

I must of copped the wrong end of what you was saying .......in my opinion being " hardworking " is a quality very few people are willing to admit to not having. I totally agree with your line " if someone was working every hour under the sun i wouldnt be impressed id be sympathetic "..........perfectly put.

Hunting loon 100
It's 2015 ffs. shagging your identical twin is a human right we should all support and push everyone else to accept,we're all the same and identitwinsexuals bring a colour and diversity to Britain you boring heterosexuals and bisexuals and homosexuals couldn't emulate if you tried. and those of you who still won't accept them, you're either mindless bigots or secretly want to f**k your own identitcal twin, but are too scared to come out. you could become next prime minster with those values !! First thing the house master teaches at boarding school to the new boys is how to Drop anchor in poo bay lol Edited September 6, 2015 by Hunting loon

Your heart might be in the right place saying all that gnasher...but sorry mate i dont buy it...i dont read many of them crime type books but one book i read a while back...was by the eastend Boxing trainer Jimmy Tibbs...he had his own troubles and did a chunck of time...but he said he hated it when the press referd to him as a gangster...he stated that all his family had earned and achived had been done by HARD WORK...and not by hurting and threatning people...and he was proud of that...and rightly so!...as for the success of the Krays?...well theres been pictures of them in the paper all week...including the famous ones of them at the flats they owned at Ceder towers?...hardly penthouses or mansions where they!?...do the books on their lives and factor in the amount of it spent in a cell...wheres the success!??...notoriety is the word...pretty much the same success as the likes of Hindley and Bradey in reality...like me you must have had a pint in the ,Blind begger pub...and you probably spared a thought for what went on in there?...whos the real Hard man of that story?...the Cornell fella?...who had the balls to be out drinking on his own on the Krays manner obviously expecting a straightner...or the Kray who shot an unarmed man at piont blank range over pretty much nothing?...whats to respect about that??...obviously if you had to live around them on a daily basis you wouldnt want to upset them...but there's a world of differance between Fear and respect...theres been a lot made about their so called boxing careers...the late trainer George Francis said they was poor as boxers...think he described them as poser's that liked to hang around the gym...with hindsight i think you would have to question the motives of a couple homosexual men that liked to hang around the changing rooms of gyms
AKA-BRINDLE 879
Reckon the film will be a success? Guessing if there has been some sort of interest all these years then people will want to see the film. Ill download it but trailer didnt impress me much parts of it seemed abit of a comedy. Just like tom hardy as an actor n give anything his in a chance. Someone should do a film on mps and their crimes lol not joking think it would have more affect than just reading it in the papers. My Mrs has a thing for Hardy...so as its double Hardy no doubt will see it at some point...seen the trailer...the bit where he comes in the pub and shouts about it being a 'shoot out!'...is more Alan Partridge than eastend gangster...i do like a good Brit gangster flick...but doubt this will be another get Carter or long good friday...but i rate Hardy as an actor...saw him in Child 44 the other night...always thought he would play a good Jem Mace in a film version of the book Fifty years a fighter(.if i say it often enough maybe it will happen)
