I reckon that some dogs in some lads heads and minds are legends to them, everyone has 1 special terrier that sticks in there mind for life, like that old dog in my avatar,he done it all week in week ou

I can remember my early days as if it were yesterday, the smell of cut wood in the back of an old escort van where i sat surrounded by all the digging kit and dogs and ferrets if we were ratting .Norm

Just talking to me old father and we've only seen one lol , it was a border dog called billy my father can even remember he's KC name it was Dandyhow Brusselsprout lol such a silly name for a truelly

Between 3 of us on average we lose a dog or dogs each year,we are busy and keep em well worked.

It "hurts " every time, hardest for me is when a dog or bitch goes before leaving a legacy. When blood finishes you've lost so much more.

different day out, but nearly lost a old one yesterday, thank god, he was found, to ground, with the fox he hunte , he woudnt give a hoot, just loves what he does, and not for a laugh

Pick and Bar, you mightn't be new to terrierwork but you might be new to this inter-net thing and it's crawling with anti's and those who would love to deny you off your dogs.

Calling terrierwork violent is stupid and makes you sound like a 15 year old wannabee macho man and mentioning how often you loose terriers is stupid too.

There's not a single fieldsport or aspect to hunting that I haven't seen and I've never seen violence of any sort.

I have seen it mentioned by anti's many times. It's an anti thing.

Talk like that draws out the wannabees on here and that's exactly what the anti's then quote on their websites and other propaganda so in reality you're doing the anti's work for them.

Think before posting and hiding behind a different name wont stop the authorities finding out who you are.

Those of us who've been lucky enough to own great ones (and IMO they're not great 'til others tell you they are, not just in your own head) but have been unlucky enough to be there when their careers ended know that the inter-net wont make them any better and prefer to remember them with a diary entry and a photo framed on the wall.

Leave the mentioning of violence to the 6 o clock news.

JMHO.

Rob284 OK! How would you describe what an earth dog does?

Please tell me.

if you describe a working dog as violent, that means working your dog is an act of violence. I wouldnt say the dog hates its quarry at all, id say they love doing their job. Its not a feeling of hate that you may like to believe, but instinct that is bred into them, they have to do it. But terrierwork isnt violent, its hunting.
