walshie 2,804
I didn't think there was much I didn't know about fishing but apparently there is. Just walking down the river near here and an old boy pulled out a 15lb salmon. Apparently on this stretch you HAVE to use worms, but further downstream you can use whatever you want. I didn't know any fishing specified what bait you could use. Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
Walshie was that the pool below the bridge? About 10/12 years ago a chap caught 2 salmon on the same hook from that pool. He was bunching with worms and the first fish took his bunch but expelled it through it's gills. The worms carried on drifting down stream and another salmon took it. He landed both fish after a titanic struggle. TC 4 Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Probably to with the rules of whatever clubs own the fishing rights to various stretches of the river.. Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
All proper fishermen know that all game fish waters have restrictions in place for different stretches of water. Some are fly only some are all methods, I had never heard of worm only, but it takes all sorts I suppose. Game fishing is far better than fishing for fish that have names, and almost come when called TC 4 Quote Link to post
