It's up to you if you put a selvedge on the net, but, if you don't the net will not sit properly on the lines. When a net is hand knitted it is knitted length ways, and to a certain extent it retains

Made a load of 14ft gate nets years ago, 20 high x 2inch mesh conventional knitting, hazel forked sticks about 16 inches out of the ground so a little bit of belly and used alongside the longnets proved to be a real bonus. No real problems with bunnies getting tangled up and anyway the dog held them. Takes a bit of time but well worth the effort. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

It's up to you if you put a selvedge on the net, but, if you don't the net will not sit properly on the lines. When a net is hand knitted it is knitted length ways, and to a certain extent it retains a memory of how it was knitted as the knots are lying horizontal so the net wants to stretch out the way it was knitted.

When adding selvedges you knit into the net vertical knots which because the twine is usually heavier helps stop the net wanting to stretch out horizontally.

yeah i couldnt find a triangle to use so i got a purse net ring n cut a hole so i could slide the net off when done

I use a 2 inch split ring so i can just slide it off when im done and just hand knit the 1 inch ring on the ends. Do you have to add mesh's to get the bag in the bottom or do you just do it straight then pull the bottom up a bit whem you put poles on to get the bag?
