Rats!

Have seen several rats down the yard but when I set the traps with peanut butter its all gone next day without setting the trap off . Any suggestions?

set the traps finer. or it could be mice taking it. i put a tiger nut boile on my traps

what sort of trap you using ? if you are using fens in tunnels try putting some bait under the plate so the rat as to rumage around abit more .

If you use the Knes break back trap in a tamper proof box it will catch the mice as well as the rats, peanut butter then , works a treat. Oh and don't lick your fingers afterwards .

Could even be slugs taking the bait off the trigger , try putting it in a small poly bag and i see if it's still there in the morning

We have had loads off rats lately up the stables , we don't even bait the traps anymore just cover the trap in wood shavings and bait the run , have them daily this way

bait with a bit mars bar nice and sticky so they have to try and pull it off the trap

If using fenns in tunnels no need to bait as rats will enter the tunnel anyway however a bit of bait doesn't hurt ? this rat was caught on a run in a bodygrip without bait.

Is the Galv metal on top the handle or locking mec for trap

Just a handle,the trap is held in place with 4 bits of wire attached to cage

ok ta, the ones I use work , but are a bit on the small size , makes it fiddly especially when it gets cooler.
