Hunting loon 100
Hi now I have been wondering how the law stands on this as a lad I know takes his dog out on some ground local to me that is owned by local council some playing fields on old school that has been shut for last few years while council decide what to do with so guessing it could be classed as a public place and is a wash with rabbits . I was wondering does guy need permission from local council as he just walks his dog on the old playing fields there and gets a few rabbits Edited August 18, 2015 by Hunting loon Quote Link to post

Hunting loon 100
Can you imagine asking council for permission lol took them long enough to decide to grant my extension plans 1 Quote Link to post
bunnyboiler 1,053
If you've got permission the rabbits are classed as pests if you haven't got permission there classed as game and is against the law but accidents will happen ATB BB 3 Quote Link to post
lurchers 2,844
You need permission off the landowner like already said, but it will take the council that long to grant it as they would want risk assessments, method statements and all the shit 1 Quote Link to post
ruggers13 268
but what can you do if your dog sees it n chases before you can put lead on Quote Link to post

walshie 2,804
Hunting "public" land or private land you don't have permission on is exactly the same offence. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
but what can you do if your dog sees it n chases before you can put lead on Then your dog is out of control in a public place. There isn't really a way around it. Except don't get caught. Lol 2 Quote Link to post

I remember before I had my own lurcher I used to do a bit with a lad off here. We got stopped by plod on way home from lamping and we had got 4 rabbits and 1 hare in the boot. He said "that's a big one ain't it". My mate said "yeh it must have been eating more grass than the others" ???? He checked the motor over and we were on our way. Obviously the hare had been taken legally on permission. Lol. Quote Link to post
Hunting loon 100
Yeah know few lads who no longer have dogs as police have stopped them once and have been legal and they have place markers on the trucks so the get stopped loads of times when out just incase of any wrong doing shame but that's the way it is lol Edited August 18, 2015 by Hunting loon Quote Link to post
