Rabbiting In Public Place

Recommended Posts

Hi now I have been wondering how the law stands on this as a lad I know takes his dog out on some ground local to me that is owned by local council some playing fields on old school that has been shut for last few years while council decide what to do with so guessing it could be classed as a public place and is a wash with rabbits . I was wondering does guy need permission from local council as he just walks his dog on the old playing fields there and gets a few rabbits

but what can you do if your dog sees it n chases before you can put lead on

Then your dog is out of control in a public place.

There isn't really a way around it.

Except don't get caught. Lol

Yeah Guess it depends if the men and women in costumes and hi-viz stab vests can be bothered to act eh lol

Your every day coppers don't tend to bother too much and can often be baffled with bullshit.

It's them wildlife coppers which are bang on it around here. They know the hunting act inside out, well some of them do.

I remember before I had my own lurcher I used to do a bit with a lad off here. We got stopped by plod on way home from lamping and we had got 4 rabbits and 1 hare in the boot.

He said "that's a big one ain't it". My mate said "yeh it must have been eating more grass than the others" ????

He checked the motor over and we were on our way.

Obviously the hare had been taken legally on permission. Lol.

Yeah know few lads who no longer have dogs as police have stopped them once and have been legal and they have place markers on the trucks so the get stopped loads of times when out just incase of any wrong doing shame but that's the way it is lol
