Brilliant whippet, its doing really well. Just curious how did it catch those pheasants? :hmm: I have been trying for a while and still no sucess.

Hi ya mate

He shown an interest in the birds from the off.

Catching the pheasants isn't the problem for me its keeping him off the chickens :icon_redface:

But i found it very easy to get him going on them. on some local permission there is a shoot nearby and birds are often on my side of the boundary.

So i simple tell him (the dog)to sit on one side of the bush or cover ,i go around and flush the bird to the dog after a good few Missie's he got the idea .i now send the dog to wait around the other side of any cover and we play the game.

hope this is some kind of help

cheers Stoney

Thanks Stoney, Are the pheasants runners or are they taking to the wing? ;)

He has had two running up and in on the hedge row, so i would have to say there are runners.

He's had another two in cover in woods were i could'nt see what was happening just heard the odd pheasant call then he's come back with another prize for us.

And he's run one a short way before jumping in the air and pulling it down from its lift like some find of a cat.

He doe's this alot but usely missies them im sure it will be just a matter if time before he masters this too.

Cheers Stoney :victory:
