mushroom 12,881
Anyone got a shock collar I can borrow?? I'm sick of this cnut running into dogs at full speed. He's just been twatted by another dog after he steamed in trying to play Yes the park was empty when I let him off and it's got fuuck all to do with him having to much energy... He's an ignorant cnut! So I want to shock the fook out of him next time. I'll pay for all shipping hopefully I'll only need it for a month. Failing that can someone point me to a decent make I can buy Cheers
BGD 6,436
f**k the shock collar, just carry a brick with you and launch it at the c**ts head when he fucks about
mushroom 12,881
Fecking around I can deal with, it's the charging away to other dogs that's pissing me off. He's gonna do it to the wrong dog one day and give me one hell of a vets bill and a messed up dog. Can't let it happen.. I don't want him all his life on a lead. skycat 6,173
A shock collar is not the answer. The only way you will get a handle on this dog is by making yourself more interesting and attractive to him than anything else. You should have started a long time ago, from when he was a little pup, playing tug, according to rules (see articles on tug training on home page on here) Mush: I had a dog exactly like yours, and he was always a pain in the rear until he got to around 3 years old: they really do take that long to mature mentally sometimes. Your only hope is to engage him (no, not like that ) so he can use you as an outlet for all that energy and daftness, sometimes known as 'drive'. You should cultivate a special tone of voice which means 'get here now for some real good games'. A sort of attention getting voice: use his name. Always carry a tug item with you: it really does work and I'd have shot my dog if I hadn't got a handle on him like that. Twill take time to get him to look to you for release of energy, but all dogs can get there and they are super thankful when at last their owner twigs them.
mushroom 12,881
I have tried everything love he's got mental issues I swear it as for thetraining I've been doing it from day one the shock collar is only for in the park and tbh I'm hoping the rumble will do otherwise he's getting frazzled till his balls are cooked.

Well in that case I've got a dog here that he can run into, I promise he'll think twice about doing it again
mushroom 12,881
And to point out I am quite happy to admit the shock is a last resort but rather that than a torn up dog/s, vets bill and a potential future dog aggressive dog.
BGD 6,436
I assume you've already tried the old beat f**k out of him with a dead dog then tie it to his back leg trick?
Truther 1,579
Get an accomplice the dog doesn't know to walk another dog on the lead in the park, arm them with a cardboard tube, when your dog runs up get the accomplice to give it a good whack with the tube, repeat with a different person/dog if possible, should make it think twice, unless it's stone hatchet
skycat 6,173
How old is he now? Only young still. That dog I mentioned was the worst for running up to other dogs I've ever seen, and this was despite living with plenty of other dogs that he played with non-stop. It really was just an age thing: one day something in his head changed and he was able to control himself. But I don't envy your plight at all. You have my deepest sympathy.

dodger 2,754
Lol I don't know were your goin wrong with that pup mush you've struggles from day one haven't you especially as you take him away on weekend treking trips in the mountains n stuff, his sister is just starting to steady up now she's been like n reminds me of a springer pup to bring on none stop n into everything n seemed to know the hunting craic from just a few month old n takin a lot of holding back, she also LOVES other dogs to n wants to play with all of them aswell as mine all the time she's very playful but I'd much rather that than be aggressive to other dogs there no good to anyone, I just go were there isn't guna be other dogs that I'm not sure of job done but at the same time still also go to public places aswell were she can always continue to see n meet other dogs to keep the socialisation going but she's always or mostly on a lead at these times, I'm going through tryin to sort her pulling on the lead issues still right now with mine as Iv never known a more keen pup in my life, on a normal street she's fine but while out on a walk down country lanes as soon as a gates comin up in view or a gap in the hedge or she winds summet she digs her heels in big styley to get to em or a rabbit or summet jumps up Iv gota then dig my heels in like feck n hold on tight lol she goes possessed Iv never known a more keen pup in all the years Iv been going. At the same time tho she's a joy to be around, great with sheep cattle n horses n really obedient she's just guna be very full on due to her keenness, but there just 12 months old and keen as mustard I'm made up with mine so far showing some great signs, Iv given her 2 slips so far just for a look n she connected well both times, also a couple mistakes doubled up with her mam while mooching about but Iv continued in holding her back again the last couple of month due to the time of year ground heat n she's still a baby very immature but from what Iv seen of her I'm really optimistic for later on. I don't know what else to suggest just persivere do things abit different maybe like said mines comin on great guns..
