It just so happens the bike wheel I noticed was attached to a Giant mountain bike.alloy frame suspension forks I'm well chuffed.all it needs is new handle bars and chain. The best thing i found in a skip was a smack-head that only charged me £3,they usually charge a £5.
Tiercel 6,986
I have had some good finds out of skips. When I was doing the boot sales it was part of the week having a look around the skips. Best skip ever though was only 100 yards from the house. An old lady that lived alone had died her family just ordered a skip and started throwing stuff in it. I must have made around £500 out of that skip. A crystal dressing table set, tortoiseshell hairbrush, comb and slides. An early Victorian wash stand set and two days later the wash stand. How the jug and bowl survived beats me they were just put in a black bag and thrown in the skip. They must have been wondering where all the stuff was going too, the skip would be empty the next morning after being half full the previous evening. TC

Truther 1,579
I've filled hundreds of skips, maybe more than that? But i don't throw anything worth taking if there's a few quid in it, scrap, furniture, fires.....ect, but it always amazes me what people will take out of a skip? Sometimes you turn up in a morning and the skips nearly empty One i can't figure out was a mini skip full of broken bathroom tiles, must have needed some hardcore

shepp 2,285
I worked at a house two weeks ago, next door was a garden about 50 metres long that was jam packed with rubbish. The garage roof and flat roof extension was stacked about 3 ft deep with old car bonnets, wood, tin and anything else that could be got up there. It turned out the old guy who lived there had been a skip diver to the extent of it being a mental illness, anything left anywhere he would pick up and take home.
