villaman 9,983
I think it's bang on but v'man would disagree. It's a nice feeling perhaps to have a 11.5-8 PCP, but you have enough power for dropping feather or fur. My PS is doing 9.7 and doesn't struggle popping the lead bit in one side and out the other. At all. My own 100 is doing 11.1 for ref. You may have enough power ,but the more people say 10 ft?lb is enough power like your self , that will give the powers to be to bring the power of air guns down from 12 ft/lb , Quote Link to post

I think 15 to 16 ftlbs would be a good place to be. As you have said with different pellets his readings will go up. TBO when you first start it's all a complete head fook. Quote Link to post
VWman 232
It would interesting to know what people do to trim the power if it goes over. I know this is not the same on springers and PCP's but when it happens for the first time it is not a good feeling. If it's just to get you to the shop to get it sorted you could just whip the breach seal out of the hw95 or have a spare BSA seal that seems to take the power down. My rifle had grease in the port and they washed it out with a spry can ? Quote Link to post
threelander 81
if you use standard springs which will achieve 12ftlb if needed all you need to do if it goes over a bit is compress a coil or two that will sort it.now if your fitting titan springs then you will have to remove 1 coil of the spring at a time and keep putting the gun back together and trying it till you get the required ftlb then finish off the spring put it back together job done Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
And with PCPs take the AT out Quote Link to post

I cant believe that. Your saying the more airgunners that want a safer power output i.e. 10-11 [not that we're getting into the discussion we had a while ago] the law will take the power down from 12?! Surely the more airguns that are under the limit the more chance there is of it being risen as it shows we can perhaps be a safer set of shooters, not that it needs to be risen at all IMO... On the other hand, and this is a reflection of your comment, the more closer we are to 12 the more chance of it being risen? Quote Link to post
VWman 232
This is a catch 22 because h&n ftt which I use in my 77 are at the 10 side of 11 and rws hobby take it as close to the limit as can be. The thing is I don't use hobbys but I do use H&N Field target trophy. ( catch 22 ) Quote Link to post
