Pick and bar 381
My bitch absorbed her litter and a second bitch also failed, both to the same dog, these were desperately awaited. Looks like I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and try for a winter litter, not the best plan. Quote Link to post
young man 225
What does it mean when a bitch absorbed pups? Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
I thought by now Young Man that some of our more intelligent members would have answered you. On layman's (Me) terms some females of some species can absorb the fetuses of their unborn back into their own bodies to save nutrition and giving birth. Personally, I didn't know a bitch could do it. I know some years some species have bad breeding years while others have good breeding years and this can happen in domestic species too, ie. dogs and ferrets. IMO it can often be natures way of regulating populations. But what we're hearing the last few years regarding such things like fading puppy syndrome and canine herpes is very worrying indeed. 3 Quote Link to post

Especially the circumstances your in as you say. All the best in finding something, something will work out for you. Quote Link to post
MIK 4,756
for me I wouldnt take on anything after 12 weeks ...I am very particular in the way I want my dogs but thats just me and I cant take any chances ....imo the first few weeks are very important in moulding a youngster and I dont know how this pup has been brought up and have taken pups on that have been that older and it just hasnt worked out ....Im confident something will turn up Quote Link to post

the goat 642
That 15 week old pup thing mik posted. maybe to someone with no brain like you? I was impressed to see a video he had upnof his terrier a few months back, and was also very impressed with the man who owned the sire of mik's terrier, to see him say something to a pup of around 10-12 weeks of age and that pup give him puppy eyes and do what he was told was impressive. You know how braindead and eratic pups are at that age. Its mik's opinion, im sure he knows what hes after. Edited September 25, 2015 by the goat Quote Link to post
Rabbit Hunter 6,613
I'd agree with that Goat, he has a way with his dogs that only the best terriermen seem to have. Mik I'm sure something will come up for you. Quote Link to post
