Francie 6,368
Was chatting to a young lad round my way, an he was telling me his year old clollie grey, has a bit of bother running at full speed an turning an catching rabbits, so I said bring him over to I see him, no injuries, but I noticed his nails were long an he wasn't standing fully on his toes, I said its probably his nails, cut them. I'm waiting on him coming back with his dog to see if there's any change, what your thoughts lads? Quote Link to post

Francie 6,368
Yeah I said that to him bunny, but would he not be better of just getting them cut, it would take to long to wear them down I think pal Quote Link to post
bunnyboiler 1,053
This time yes but in future more road walking that should keep them down Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
My old red bitch had hard black nails like steel. 10 mile road walking a day wouldn't keep them short. I used to use a nail file to try and keep them short but it wasn't easy. Jet black so couldn't see the quick and as said hard as granite. 1 Quote Link to post
thefensarefarbutistillgo 2,488
I've always found the black nails to be tougher and stronger than clear ones, don't know this is, but prefere the black nails for this reason Quote Link to post

She broke 3 toes in the 2 and half years I had her and also had multiple other toe injuries. I always blames her nails. I used the big flat files which are for hard skin on feet. Also used a dremel which worked best. Quote Link to post
