The search I did on google took me to Amazon and that was 200 dollars lol

For velvet and steel

Got a brand new one sent signed from Bob Stevens in the States for about £50...is he not still selling the ones left over from the court case?...its an ok book but not worth $200 or the other silly prices it went for over here years back...Complete Game dog is good as is the Pit Bull Bible...got a stack of books here Homan ,Semencic ,Stratton Fleig ect...not a bad little investment looking at the prices some go for these days...will be flogging the lot at some point...but as this thread is 'Historical'...I'd recommend Louis Colby's book on the APBT...its a little jem of a book...imo

Yeah you can get the reprint for much cheaper, don't know if its exactly the same book though? Stratton did like to romanticise a little in his books don't you think? He wasn't a dog man but he had a decent line going at one point, think he's about 80 now.

stratton had some rose tinted glasses, certainly regarding the sporting side of things, but he was a great advocate of the breed and i liked his books. used to speak with him many moons ago over the web, he lost his wife and it hit him real hard. must be knocking on a fair bit now...

In certain circles the term " Bulldog " within the breed of American Pit Bull Terriers is reserved specifically for the very best examples of the breed......" that dogs a real bulldog " for example wo

Our society is abit of a joke too, god help anyone keeping their dogs in shape. Everyone seems to have fat mutts and thinks anything in shape looks skinny. Just compare to abroad things here arent really in your favour.

I think it's sad that our country turned its back on a breed that is the epitome of courage. Instead we look at the British Bulldog has our mascot, I suppose that breed fits perfectly with the way our country is these days....

Loads of things to blame for them getting popular. I wasnt born before the dda91 but would people then be far more relaxed and not able to see the way things would go? I know youll always get peddlers but prehaps a few would of been more caring about the direction the dogs was heading. Only takes a few idiots to get the dogs in the media and then the papers add petrol to the fire making them more appealing to idiots. Guess its abit like hunting with the idiots who post silly photos that do no good.

A certain someone importing whole litters from Ireland and selling them to any smack head with the readies was the start of the downfall of the APBT in Britain, imo.
