As a child I went with my Grandfather and gran in their little trailer and worked in Yalding in Kent picking hops, basically it was the fag end of it really. Anyway they loved it and me it just seemed like hard graft to me mind you I was only 7 and had no concept of work lol no health and safety then ? I'll see if I've got any pics

My mates still got s hop farmn nearish to yalding.not many left now.

Good read that mate,,,hops are actually the flower of a hop plant,,,,as said earlier used in brewing beer,,,,you can find them in hedgerows growing wild if you know what to look for,,,you will see them now ,,,right through sept
