Rip Fly

This is friends pride an joy fly sadly had be put to sleep Sunday morn just gone two.seen an done more than enough for her age any ways he went out for mooch with lamp.first slip he gave her she went out of sight around bend in field of the lamp so he switches lamp off for the bitch to return after a minute seconds of her goin out of sight any ways bitch did not return after 2 to 3 or so minutes witch very unusual any ways he made his way towards the derection she had ran softly calling her . He heard her crying shining the lamp no sine he runs towards her cry to find her on her side cut to her knee he trying encourage her up nothing he picks her up she starts bellowing in pain got her back to the car every time he moved poor dog was squeeling and can't move a musle he knew she was seriously hurt any ways dog was brought to vet for running dogs in Newry forget lads name he took out these clamps things goin down her back she was crying out until he got to her hips pelvis no reply pinch between all her toes no reaction . She was paralysed had be put to sleep she had broken pelvis and damaged one of her vertebrates .awful terrible feeling I know it's expected with working dogs but it's gut wrenching when you lose one the pack members .....keep the smart comments to yourselves cheers

Very sorry to hear that fella.

 

I don't think it takes much when these dogs are flat out behind something. I bet they hit speeds of 30mph plus, the slightest dip or mis-footing could lead to all sorts of breaks and strains. Necks, backs, hips etc.

 

As someone said not so long back. They are only yours when they are on the slip lead. And it's very true.
