downsview 448 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Share Posted August 10, 2015 I've bought a brand new hw90k I had one 15 years ago problem free not had an air rifle for a long time I needed one so I bought another.problem is it shoots lovely for a few shots then they start going all over the place ,now do I invest in a dampner mount or just give in and get a PCP. Coypu Hunter 486 Posted August 11, 2015 Report Share Posted August 11, 2015 If it's the odd flyer then the rifle goes back on zero, it's most likely a pellet problem, and you need to experiment to find the right pellet/head size for your barrel. If zero shifts and won't come back on target after a few shots, then it's more likely a scope problem. Check the obvious first. Are all the stock screws tight, both at the front of the stock and around the trigger guard? Are the scope screws tightened up to full hand-tightness? Check them all, the ones that secure the mount to the rifle as well as on the scope rings. If any stock or scope screws work loose, that can affect accuracy, and you can use a drop of Loctite thread-locker to keep them in place. Are you using a scope stop? If not, it's a good idea in a springer, unless it's tuned. Which scope and mounts are you using? Quote Link to post
