hjckcff 1,738
my young terrier max has had a lump appear under his ear just to the back of his jaw. he was at the vets a few weeks ago and given antibiotics. this helped and all was good for a while but its reappeared with a vengeance so back to the vets and he is in for an op tomorrow to get a biopsy and remove the lump. I really like this dog so fingers crossed he is up and well in no time. without the extra head he is trying to grow. cs in a blink of an eye he has gone from this to this he is a credit to his breeder. I recon so wish him a speedy recovery as I don't want him out of action to to long 1 Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,484
My russel had a lump under his jaw from a splinter he got chewing his pen that's why I asked. Antibiotics wouldn't make a tumor type growth shrink would they so probably an abscess ? Quote Link to post
hjckcff 1,738
My russel had a lump under his jaw from a splinter he got chewing his pen that's why I asked. Antibiotics wouldn't make a tumor type growth shrink would they so probably an abscess ? i'm not that clued up on this sort of stuff to be honest but I would think a tumour would just keep getting bigger. antibiotics has brought the swelling down before and reduced the size of the lump. I was thinking maybe a cyst . I should know soon enough though . and cheers for the input folks 2 Quote Link to post
butcherboy 68
I had this with a Cocker Spaniel bitch I had. The lump under her throat was the size of a tyre & was all water filled. Draining it twice the vet took out a pint each time before opening it up to have a look. The lump was probably caused by a stick injury when hunting that had gone in & out the skin without being noticed. Antibiotics & 8 weeks time returned it to normal. Hope your dog is ok. 1 Quote Link to post
