jacknife 2,005
How easy it it to define rabbits for head shooting using this thermal ? I currently use nv, and I can clearly take head shots every time out to 100 yards with this, but is thermal as clear, I would presume not. I agree, it's the price tag that's making me hold back some, it's a lot of dough. . You wont want to use the NV once you use the Xd75 You see things you didn't even know were there Head shooting rabbits no problem

I don't know what ranges that video was taken at, but it's not what I would call clearly defined for head shooting, possibly because of the mag, as you can see the heads well enough at whatever range that was, if I compare that video to my nv, I prefer my setup for clarity, but I see a definite advantage the thermal has spotting thing the nv doesn't see unless you get eye shine or it moves. Personally too much money to gamble right now, may wait and see if the price comes down, need to replace/upgrade one of my old n550's, just don't think it will be with this. The main reason I went thermal as said previously is that I noticed some of my quarry were noticing the dull red glow from the IR and shying away particularly the lamp shy foxes, now even in well shot places my quarry is totally unaware that I am there,I am now totally visibly invisible and it does make a hell of a difference. The thermal fitted to an HMR out to around 100-150 yards max for shots on rabbits is deadly, some real advantages over night vision, theres a few disadvantages also mainly magnification and ID at longer distances other than that there cracking.
