bird 10,013
Loved that clip, grew up as a kid around this, my wee uncle was shit hot at it he had a few fights over there won a couple of them he would always bring the tapes back for us to watch. He would be in bed for days black and blue, one of the ones he won with a double punch after missing with a spinning kick! The crowd over there went nuts over him yeh , but take the legs out of the acquisition , they wouldn't last any longer than any other normal fighter . I just watched the link with American kick boxer v thai boxer, and he beat the a/kboxer only because he kicked the shit out of his legs , so he couldn't stand up and fight. even the yank corner man said the same , it don't take alot skill to keep kicking somebody's leg , and I think he spot on what he said ok to the top of the body head, stomach, ribs yeh use the feet, but anything else its not proper fighting, you may as well take a stick in there with you and whack them with that, anybody can do that. I done karate / weight training for 3 years , had lots of fights in that time , and the above more for disabling a person , than to fight them ,carnt see the point in it , unless you want it as a self defence ,and not a sport Why would you take legs out of the equation on a sport that involves leg kicks? Both men will have trained to give/take kicks to the gets, don't really see what your getting at mate? It's a fight with rules ect what i was trying to say was , that the skill level wouldn't be have to be as great in a sport like this, purely+ simply , anybody can keep kicking somebody legs and weaken them , so they carnt fight back . I know there equally matched and fight by kicking each others legs, and its with in rules true. But you right its in the rules so that it .!

And a leg kick is easily defended against, the only reason it gets used against karate people so much is they generally don't know how to defend against it and aren't conditioned to. Karate has nothing to worry Muay thai imo
