Recommended Posts

Why is it no matter how much I eat I'm always feeling hungry not long after, drink plenty but take today for example ate a jacket pototo butter beans and cheese and litterly half hour later was starving like I've never been fed in my life, put loads of weight on since stopping drinking and smoking but wish I never stopped now as I'm never full up

AS the others have said get to the docs,,, sounds very serious to me,,, in fact, you better get a priest, or an undertaker at the ready...

Get an ali kebab into you crusty

I packed in smoking 18 months ago and put 2 stone on within 8 months ... i had blood tests to rule out the usual suspect conditions. i find the only thing that stopped me feeling hungry was plenty of

I'm the same mate always thinking about my next meal ! And i eat stupid amounts usually boredom because if I'm busy all day will forget to eat ! I find if I can go a few days with out eating much my stomach will shrink and can not eat as much

I agree with Gaz; there was a programme on about it within the last couple of years.

I put on a stone and a half after my daughter was born and lost it by using that: I think it's called the 5/2 diet. Another series the year before was about the rubbish that the food industry puts into their food to make it more palatable (I think it's fructose I'm thinking of but could be wrong) and also how we're encouraged to think we need lots of snacks to keep us going.

Having said that, CraignTod's idea of little and often works well too...it's just that, in my case, the ;little and often was chocolate and Lucozade! Apparently it has something to do with the huge amounts of backing from the sugar industry to various sectors so that whenever research points out the harmful nature of sugar they nip in and push the blame onto fat instead. Not quite as simple as that but you get my drift.

+1...If you're also tired, lethargic, have a dry mouth and peeing a lot (or any couple of these) see your doctor ASAP !

As you've stopped smoking and drinking, you're probably experiencing cravings, which you're interpreting as hunger. Solution ? To determine when you're actually hungry ,and when youre just psychologically 'filling a gap'.......get the diabetes check done, if you're in any doubt, though !

Get it checked, mate - just to be on the safe side. It's probably nothing, but you never know, and if that's what it is, at least you can do something about it.
