neems 2,406
Says who? Do you know something we don't? there are 1000's of abandoned and neglected lurchers some probably in similar nick to this dog in rescues up and down this country, why would this particular one be anything special? It's not a rare case no need to get all excited and make silly claims. Quote Link to post
ivebeen 176
Silly claims, exactly. Quote Link to post

It's not a rare case no need to get all excited and make silly claims. My thoughts exactly! As unpleasant as photos like this are, there are literally thousands of dogs in states like this up and down the country. Probably some scumbag who decided to get a 'working dog' then lost interested and left the poor mutt in a kennel to rot. Unfortunately all to common. Quote Link to post
ivebeen 176
If this is so common as you say then why is this post even made? Isn't this the hunting life? Its not the rescue life... If it's so common then why is everyone's panties in a wad?? Quote Link to post

If it's so common then why is everyone's panties in a wad?? Spot on. It's got nothing to do with hunting, it doesn't need to be on here. It could well of been a pet owner who's dumped that dog. Nothing to do with working dog lads. Quote Link to post

Nothing to do with working dog lads. You're right ,it might have been a pet owner and the way the lurcher is being churned out by peddlers nowadays there's a good chance it was. But IMO it's good to see fellow hunters on here as appalled by the condition of that dog as any other person in society would be. It's not high lighted enough that because we expect our dogs to actually work that it is in our's and our dogs interest that they be in peak condition to hunt for us. Working dogs tend to have much better lives than pets etc. and only a fool would say otherwise. But, who ever left that poor dog in that state does not represent we who work dogs and it should be seen that we don't want them and in fact, despise them. 5 Quote Link to post
