J Darcy 5,871
Anyone found any this year? I have found a treble one, the first one I've ever seen or heard of in my life. Like a figure of 8 with an extra loop on. Also the same doe has made a double one about 400 yards away, I saw it tonight . The doe is being pursued by two young, almost immature , bucks , that are quite possibly only 2 years old. I know where there;s several double rings, but has anyone ever seen a treble? Yokel Matt 918
I've not seen any this year and can't remember ever seeing a figure 8 let alone a triple. Come to think of it Ive seen very little in the way of territory thrashing / scraping from the bucks this either despite there being plenty about. Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
I've seen loads mate. I videoed the treble, but maybe tomorrow I will take a pic and post it up. I know a few places where roe run figure of eights every year and have done so for about a decade or so..... The unusual thing about the double i found today that it was just in long grass and not around a tree or shrub./ It's the first one I have found that was not around anything. Quote Link to post

J Darcy 5,871
I've been back out this morning. Just got in. The rut here is over. I watched a doe for a good while, but there was no bucks in attendance.....I presume they're getting some rest. Quote Link to post

They'll be there mate, trust me. It's part of the courtship. Its the doubles that are unusual. The double I found yesterday when I said didn't have a tree in the centre and was just grass, actually did have a tiny ash sapling in the middle. I looked today as it was on my mind....I will take a piccy of them... 1 Quote Link to post
