Hiroshima 70 Years On

Recommended Posts

And the English were saints lol

Never said that, what I said is that this was a terrible day in human history........nuclear power is one of mans greatest crimes IMHO

How could the greatest minds have not been clever enough to see that this should never have been allowed in the world.

My view is.......science should hang it's head in shame. They let Oppenhiemer and his team loose in the sweet shop to play and it wasn't until their scientific labido had been satisfied did they full

I did an article somewhere that the only one known survivor of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he's 90 odd years old and amazingly is only a little deaf in one ear .. The other three he's got perfect hea

Everyone who lived through and remembers the troubles owe it too the next generation to move on........I don't beleive we can fully do that until the likes of Adams and McGuiness are no longer part of

No sympathy at all for the japs........not after what they did to our soldiers, cannibalism, torture, cold blooded murder when they had the power to do it, how many of these "innocent civilians" brought up sons who carried out these atrocities? Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Was reading an article about Japanese Revionist that want to rewrite their history. Basically denying and wrong doing on their behalf and blaming everything on western aggression.

There's a few Nazi Revisionists on here.

It's not about having sympathy for the Japenese, it's about having sympathy for mankind.

The Japs reaped the whirlwind of their actions.......let's just hope none of us ever have to reap the whirlwind of Oppenheimers and Tellers actions !!

There's a vast tract of the Ukraine that is poisoned for all eternity.......that's a 2 hour flight away.

Think about that !

I agree that nuclear should never have been released on the world Wilf, it's like giving a 5 year old a loaded 12g to play with..............and i think the Yanks wanted to demonstrate it's power to the world as much as anything else, when have they ever worried about losing men in conventional conflicts? But if anybody asked for it the japs did imo.

The incident that stands out to me is the japs taking 250 British soldiers onto a beach and beheading them, even when they knew they'd lost, lads that could have gone home to their families and lived their lives out............sheer evil b*****ds.

The jap cruelty is kept in the shadow of what happened to the jews.....even though it is on a different scale .....and I wonder why.... :hmm:

The English and Americans agreed to turn a blind eye to the atrocities commited in Unit 731 as long as they were given access to the research

Makes them just as complicit, IMO.

Yeh I know agree with what you said I just meant if were goin off other country's past actions the English shouldn't throw stones in glass houses n all that, we can't really go off the past to much it was all a long time ago, my gran went through hell in the concentration camps from the Germans but I personally haven't met a bad one n some of the women are unbeleivable lol..

Nah f**k em !! If they'd had the bomb I don't think we'd be here today discussing it !

True enough mate but IF your sister had bollocks, she'd be ya brother ;)

the bomb was dropped as a warning to the Soviets more than anything I reckon as they were mobilising to fight the Japs and they didn't want them sharing the cake in the east

Hadn't the Japs surrended but there was some confusion over it so the Americans dropped the bomb anyway ? It did usher in the nuclear age and the Cold War.
