A big landscaping firm might take them off you.

£40 a ton in my local EMR yard

Is that a bad price but the good thing about steel it doesn't take much to make a ton

Scrap is at an all time terrible low around here, guess yours will be the same, so I would either hang onto them, or trickle them into the market slowly, couple at a time on eBay and put a note you have more available.

Had you been nearer to me I would have made you an offer on the lot, but haulage would most likely kill it.

Out of interest, what sort of money you looking for, and any idea what they weigh ?

Yes got to be worth more for what they are than scrap value, trouble with big stuff is you need to flog it locally. As mentioned stick a few on ebay gumtree etc with a note saying more available buyer collects you can list on ebay for free if it doesn't sell

I think that's good on the basis that if you are out collecting scrap there is more about for your to find as less people will be scrapping like when prices are sky high, but all time low would be around five to ten pound per ton like if was back in 2000 ish, also the iron grids would be classed as heavy so price always pays better than light stuff, I use emr aswell and there prices are always the best

Really, think about it, you see the p***y vans going round, old rolls of wire, the odd oven, bike wheels, usual shit we all throw out for them, then think how much that actually weighs, I can tell you it's next to nowt, and takes a few hours to fill a transit driving round, as well as a bit in diesel at 22mpg, for £40 a ton, jokes mate, pure jokes, not worth doing unles you are lifting manhole covers and the likes, that's where the money is, and why all the pikeys are forever nicking drain covers, and pulling electric cables out, though even copper has dropped now, we used to get good money when we replaced central heating systems, the tanks alone made a oner, now we stock pile it as it will always be up and down due to demand, I can remember ques over a mile long to get into our local emr not so long back, they were paying £260 a ton, now that's good money and we always scour the farm, workshop, and have a bloody good clear out.
