SNAP SHOT 194
This morning started early, 3:30Am Got the gear ready and hit the road to collect my hunting buddie 30 miles away. The rain wasn't taking time to fall, but since it was going to be a long drive we thought the weather would clear, After three hours driving i pulled into the hunting grounds. looked at the sky, it was just starting to stop raining as we made our way up the field after checking the wind to see which direction to head off. Three quaters of the way up the field we stopped in our tracks 10 fallow about three hundred yards away, As we started to make our way to them with the night sky as cover it was just about getting clear, With no cover in the rest of the field we got to our bellies and crawled in at about two hundred yards we waited to get a good shot as the night became morning. Next thing the heavens open and the deer run up the field to the cover of the forestry....... Like two drowned rats we made our way back to the jeep, With a lot of and along the way. We headed to permission no. 2 about three miles down the road, It was now starting to ease with just a slight drizzle so out we got as we were we already!!!! off we went clearing a small hill i saw a Lone Doe grazing at 92 yards away. Thank fook says i just inching forward to get a good sight picture, wind howling she never saw what was lurking, within a few short strokes of the second hand it was over, neck shot lights out not a kick. One one happy camper.....namely me. As i write this, i think of the great day that was had, the good life the doe had, and the good meals she will provide. Is this not what its all about, enjoyment, and fulfillment. And me sitting here thinking won't she look nice with a few roast potato's to keep her company Another great memory... Now off to bed as i'm fooked.... Quote Link to post

I dont have my own permission/fac yet so have only been out on paid cull days and one trophy stalk with the estate rifle but I loved every minute of it. Good post, very good read, well done again. regards, Pete. Quote Link to post
