Dr5 Problem Too Much Air

Recommended Posts

This was a secondhand purchase from here about 18 months ago.

As the DR5 was not putting out enough powder I removed the connector which attaches the bottle to the clear pipe which has the gun and delivery tube on the end of it.

Inside the bottle is two lengths of copper pipe going top the bottom of the bottle, this attaches to the clear pipe to supply powder under air pressure.

On mine the means of attachent was a length of 15mm hozelock water pipe and some insulation tape, the copper pipes are 10mm diameter so 5mm too large.

I checked on the Birchmeier web site but there are no detail drawings for these parts so I am not sure how they are attached.

I am guessing at a length of plastic pipe.

You're probably confused by now so here are some pictures of what I have.

Can anyone advise on how the pipes should be connected, and how long a length of pipe.

I'll ask at the plumbers merchants tomorrow for 10mm flexible connectors or a short length of flexible pipe.

I emailed Birchmeier and they offered to send a length of tube to me FOC, adding that it is hard to fit the tube to get the parts together.

Meanwhile I bought a length of 10mm ID braided hose from ebay and fitted it.
