samboy 315
Ive had my CZ 452 10 yrs now and never cleaned the barrel or mod. But i have took the rifle apart when it got wet. I put it back together again and i could not hit a barn door. Stripped it down again and put it back together with a different system of putting the screws back and it solved the problem. But i cant remember the sequence of putting the screws back in. Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
What was the problem for future reference thanks It's unsafe to use a rifle, even rimfire without a backstop as even a .22 RF is dangerous to over 1.5 miles plus it's potentially deadly on the way down ie a rifle round is never spent. So elevating a rifle for use in trees is an extremely dangerous thing to do. The range is such that the round will leave the boundaries of all but the largest permissions. Even with such a permission, it would be irresponsible to fire it elevated as there's no way of seeing out to that distance to ensure no one is in the line of sight. Additionally, the police would likely have your licence for that reason. If you hit someone by accident, then you'd be likely facing manslaughter charges. Simple rule with any rifle, always backstop and never fire elevated and never rely on objects such as trees as backstops. It only takes a jerk of the gun as you fire to put the round straight past the trunk of even the fattest of trees at any kind of sensible firing range. Quote Link to post
blueeyes 45
Sorry bud I was talking about the accuracy problem, I dont take any shots without a safe backstop. Quote Link to post
Shotguner 3
I have found that cleaning a 22 is just a nightmare for the grouping of the next 100 to 150 rounds , in my opinion a 22 shouldn't be taken out in the wet or be put down on the ground and so should never need cleaning but if for any reason it does , then I tend to go down the local range and just fire off until it's back on track Quote Link to post
