NEWKID 27,531
Thanks all!! Don't want to bore you with holiday snaps but.... Take a look at the size of this pollack I caught tonight!! Paddled out in fairly rough conditions, wishing I was back in the cottage beside the fire with the family lol., Managed to get out and behind an island which was a natural break from the big rollers coming in off the Atlantic.. This is rugged real fishing, I love it... I was smashed by a big fish after 5 mins and struggled for another bite.. Perserverance paid off and as it started to get dark I caught a real beast for inshore waters... The biggest I've ever had inshore.. I'd estimate it at 10lbs.. A great fight on real light gear!!.. I put it back after a couple of pics, it was too nice to keep lol Great day and great finish... Rounded off with a crab sandwich..

NEWKID 27,531
Cheers lads I am loving it John, really is my type of holiday, I've had some big pollack wrecking ( high doubles) but this fish beats them... Just the way it was caught and where... I couldn't kill it.. Give it a go Len, it's great fun, gets you out to places you can't normally reach and you're in the water in minutes.. Tonight was quite a hard paddle though, but I like it.. This was the sun setting behind Goat Island looking out to the Isle of Eig... Beautiful place, I'd never tire of it... I'm beginning to agree with Northernlight lol.. Highland games tomorrow, at Mailaig... After we've checked the pots..lol..

NEWKID 27,531
We'll I f****d up.. Got my days wrong and we were turfed out of the house yesterday.. I thought we had until today lol.. Never mind, our holidays are always a bit last minute and take it as it comes so a quick pack up and we were in the road ... "Hungry and homeless" as the kids kept telling me lol.... Drove out to Inverness along Loch Ness.. When we got there the World Orienteering Championship was on ( I should've known lol).. Everywhere was full.. Right where to??. The missus and eldest wanted to go to Edinburgh.. So off we set through the Crangorns.. What a cracking drive.. Senn a huge herd of deer coming down a mountainside.. The night before I had the lamp on a herd out if the cottage to show the kids.. Plus a fox working along the beach, they liked seeing it all.. So now I'm in Edingburgh, shops and noise.. Wishing I was back by the coast surrounded by mountains.. But as I keep being reminded.. It's everybody's holiday lol.. Our last night was nice on the water with the kids...
