mark williams 7,556
DD £500 buys a lot of options. Calibre in sub 12 ft/lbs - .177 by a country mile ! (for me). Pcp means another £200 for bottle etc. Or springer, new if you wish, Air Arms, HW, best options - AA Pro Sport, T Rex 200 HC (awesome) or any HW 2 Quote Link to post
dark-destroyer-85 636
Ok cheers mark thanks for your input mate don't really want a spring gun would rather pcp so bottle not problem like what you think of a rapid mate Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
If you are buying new then you need to allow about £800-£1000 for compleat set up on a PCP You can get some good deals on second hand stuff .177 for a PCP , have a look at BSA Ultra , r10, AA s410 and HW 100 Quote Link to post
neil82 1,080
you can get all sorts of recommendations from here about what people use and suits them, may not suit you, find a club or an enthusiast near you and ask if you can go on a shoot with them and see what fits you, when it comes to a pcp set up £500 does not go as far as you think unless you go second hand, fill in your location even if its only county and there may be someone close who can help you out far better than most shops who are only looking for a sale 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Welcome to the Forum here For £500 you'll get a superb spring rifle that'll do all you want and more. You won't get much in the way of a PCP for that amouint unless you go second hand. The best thing to do is like Neil says and visit a club and have a chat with the members and see what they are using. They'll let you have a shot or two and tell you all you need to know for now.If you see a rifle or two you like the look of and want to know more about it, just ask here.
