they dig clay from a quarry near me that goes to the brick works,the deep ponds are lifting with them certain times of year,remember we had salamanders at school but not seen one for years

Working in a different garden today and found this little fella.

That's put paid to your application to build a housing estate then. Unless of course you have plenty of brown envelopes or wear a goatskin apron.

Haha, I wish mate. The only Brown envelopes I have normally say Final Demand in big red letters on them.

Are those newts in an aquarium? Always amazes me what people have as hobbies. Is there anyone else on here who keeps newts (or anything else for that matter ) to release back into the wild

Are those newts in an aquarium? Always amazes me what people have as hobbies. Is there anyone else on here who keeps newts (or anything else for that matter ) to release back into the wild

 

I have loads of newts in my pond ,mostly common smooth ones but the odd palmate and a few alpines .

A few years ago I kept a couple of smooth newts in a little tank on my kitchen table for a few days so I could take a few photos of the breeding procedure. Purely for my own collection you understand . Rumours that I am some sort of amphibian porn baron are unfounded .
