Also, while i'm here, I have a serious bible question. Why is it all "verily i say unto thee" when no-one said that, as it was all in Hebrew. I understand it was translated when people DID speak like that but why isn't there a more modern translation to make it less dull?

The translation is in old English, an it was thoroughly done to a tee, an is the only translation to be trusted.

 

 

How do you know it was thoroughly done to a tee? Have you translated it from Hebrew yourself or are you taking the translators' word for it? And if it is 100% accurate, how come no-one has bothered to translate it from old to modern English? Or Hebrew to modern English? Serious questions, so serious answer please, none of your usual lip.

The bible is an amazing piece of literary work but to be fair there's no reason why it wouldn't be, it was compiled over 1,500 years and written by many different authors. It is full myth, tales, poetry, philosophy etc there are some very dark aspects in there too. I used to read it as a child in Sunday school and could never understand the logic of it but later on in my life I was lucky enough to see it for what it really is and throw religion away and now live my life as an anti-theist.

I still admire the literature but there is much more fulfilment to be had in life when you live it for what it is, these days my bible is kept company on the bookshelf by the great works of Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking, Cristher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins etc etc it's a lot like Plummer's work it's an alright read but shouldn't be taken literally and as long as you realise it's full of lies you can enjoy it.

You have to believe what's written in Genesis therefore you believe the universe, earth and all life is 10,000 years old, scientific evidence proves its a little older somewhere around 14 billion years old and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I've tried but I found much more enlightenment, truth and beauty in life, how do you know you have the right one? Who's to say Yahweh is the correct God? Maybe Islam is right, maybe Joseph smith is right, maybe Thor is right.........anybody who chooses to believe in a faith is already atheist against every other religion except the one they've chosen to throw in with I'm no different I've just gone gone one faith more than you.
